Fortaleza hosts 5,000 participants for CAIXA/Brazil Run Series

The Fortaleza stage of the CAIXA/Brazil Run Series is set to host 5,000 participants, including runners, walkers, and para-athletes, on Sunday, September 27, 2026. This represents a 51% increase in participation compared to the 3,300 athletes who competed last year.

The event will take place at the Arena CAIXA, located at Praça do Interceptor Oceânico. The competition features several categories, including a 10km Elite race for both men and women. Notable competitors in the men's elite category include Cicero Felix da Silva, Paulo Roberto Pinheiro de Melo, and Joilson Bernardo da Silva, a former winner of the event.

In the women's elite category, the competition is expected to be a contest between Aline Prudencio de Freitas, Fernanda Pereira da Silva, and Maria do Socorro Silva Lima. The race schedule begins at 5:20 AM with para-athletes, followed by the elite category at 5:25 AM, and other categories at 5:30 AM.
