Fortaleza police investigate assault of woman in Praia do Futuro

The Civil Police of Ceará (PCCE) is investigating an assault against a woman that occurred on Monday afternoon in the Praia do Futuro neighborhood of Fortaleza. Video footage circulated on social media shows a man, identified by a friend of the victim as Dominik Melo, striking the woman with punches and kicks. The recording depicts the man knocking the victim to the ground and pressing her against a concrete bench before delivering a kick to her head.

A friend of the victim stated that the aggressor is a business owner operating in Fortaleza. The Public Security and Social Defense Secretariat (SSPDS) has confirmed that an inquiry has been opened to support the investigation. Authorities have urged the victim to report to a Civil Police station, specifically the 15th Precinct, to provide further information.
