Fortaleza signs former Botafogo defender Bastos

Fortaleza has officially signed Angolan defender Bastos to bolster its squad until the end of 2026. The 35-year-old center-back joined the club as a free agent following his departure from Botafogo.

Bastos, who was previously registered in the CBF Daily Informative Bulletin (BID), becomes the eighth reinforcement for Fortaleza this season. His arrival follows other recent signings including Juan Cantillo, Pedro Henrique, and Chico da Costa.

During his tenure at Botafogo, Bastos was part of the historic squad that won the Libertadores and the Brazilian Championship in 2024. He is expected to be available for upcoming matches in the Série B, where Fortaleza currently holds fourth place.
