Forte Venini di Oga Reopens to Public, Joining Stelvio Trekking Routes

The World War I fort Forte Venini di Oga, perched above Bormio in the Alta Valtellina region, has reopened to visitors after a period of closure. Restored and converted into a museum in 2003, the site now forms part of the Stelvio Historical Trek and Stelvio Family Trek, offering guided access to its tunnels, barracks, armories and armored domes.

Open daily from 10:00 to 18:00 until 15 September 2026, the fort charges a €10 entrance fee per adult, with free entry for children under ten. Four guided tours are scheduled in August 2026 (1, 8, 22, 29 August) at 14:00, provided at least two participants attend.

Visitors conclude their tour with an excursion into the adjacent Riserva Naturale del Paluaccio, a protected area known for peatlands, forests and rich biodiversity, reinforcing the blend of historical and natural experiences promoted by the Stelvio Family Trek program.
