Forthing Australia announces expansion with new electrified models
Chinese automotive brand Forthing has announced plans to expand its lineup in Australia with at least three new models arriving by 2028. Following the launch of its REEV and EV electrified SUVs, the company intends to target a gap in the Australian market for affordable electrified multi-purpose vehicles (MPVs).
Shaun Garrard, national manager for Forthing Australia, stated that the next upcoming model will be a people mover offering both pure electric and plug-in hybrid power options at attainable price points. This model is expected to feature seven or eight seats. The company also plans to release a larger SUV in 2028 and has another undisclosed model in development.
The brand's recent SUV launch follows a trademark dispute with Porsche regarding the name ‘Taikon 5’ in Australia and New Zealand.
