Fortinet earns Certified Leader status in AV-Comparatives 2026 EPR test

Fortinet has earned the ‘Certified Leader’ designation in the AV-Comparatives 2026 Endpoint Prevention and Response (EPR) test. This marks the second consecutive year the company has received certification, following its recognition for FortiEDR in the previous year.

The 2026 EPR test evaluated security solutions from 14 companies using 50 multi-stage attack scenarios designed with AI-based development techniques. These scenarios were modeled after real-world tactics used by state-sponsored groups, such as Lazarus and Kimsuky, as well as ransomware organizations like Conti and LockBit. The testing framework adhered to the MITRE ATT&CK matrix.

FortiEndpoint with EDR successfully detected all 50 attack scenarios during the first stage of compromise. For scenarios not immediately blocked in the first stage, the solution prevented all lateral movement in the second stage, effectively blocking any progression to the third stage of asset compromise. AV-Comparatives reported an active response (prevention) rate of 97.3% and a passive response (detection) rate of 100%. Additionally, the solution received a ‘Low’ rating for costs associated with false positives and a ‘None’ rating for user task delays caused by file analysis.
