Fortinet launches FortiGate 1200G with FortiSASE Outpost for hybrid security

Fortinet announced the addition of the FortiGate 1200G appliance and the FortiSASE Outpost to its FortiGate G Series. The new platform merges next‑generation firewall capabilities with Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) functions on a single device, allowing security policies to be enforced on‑premises, at the network edge, or in the cloud. Built on the FortiOS operating system and powered by Fortinet’s proprietary FortiASIC architecture, the FortiGate 1200G delivers high‑performance threat protection, low‑latency networking and hardware‑rooted security.

Ken Xie, Fortinet’s founder, chairman and CEO, said, “The convergence of firewall and SASE technologies is creating a new SASE firewall market built for the realities of today’s hybrid world.” The solution supports flexible 10 Gb, 25 Gb and 100 Gb connectivity, addresses growing AI workloads, encrypted traffic and hybrid infrastructure demands, and offers local enforcement for data‑sovereign or latency‑sensitive traffic while maintaining consistent cloud‑delivered security policies.
