Fortnite launches custom experience for film The Uprising

Fortnite and Focus Features have announced a custom in-game experience based on the upcoming historical drama ‘The Uprising’. The experience is available ahead of the film’s theatrical release on September 10.

Developed using the Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN) by Sawhorse Productions and published by Genesis Studios, the 5v5 multiplayer mode is inspired by the Peasants’ Revolt of 1381. Set in 1380s England, the gameplay pits Rebel forces against Kingsmen in a battle for the gates of London. Players use era-appropriate melee weapons and bows, progressing through four map phases from farmland to fortified city walls.

The film, directed by Paul Greengrass and starring Andrew Garfield, Cosmo Jarvis, and Jamie Bell, chronicles the historical uprising. The Fortnite experience includes cinematic endings unique to the outcome of each match.
