Fortuna Sittard defeats FC Groningen 3-2 in Eredivisie match

Fortuna Sittard secured a 3-2 away victory against FC Groningen in the fourth week of the Eredivisie 2026/27 season. The win moves Fortuna Sittard to fifth place in the standings with seven points.

Mohammed Ihattaren opened the scoring for Fortuna Sittard in the 12th minute, followed by a goal from Lequincio Zeefuik in the 28th minute. FC Groningen managed to equalize through David van der Werff in the 19th minute. Anthony Descotte extended Fortuna Sittard's lead to 3-1 in the 72nd minute.

In the 87th minute, Indonesian defender Justin Hubner scored an own goal while attempting to clear a high ball in the penalty area, bringing the score to 2-3.
