Forum Erzurum to host architecture workshops for children

Forum Erzurum, in collaboration with the Finnish architecture and design education school Arkki, will host a series of free workshops for children from August 14 to August 16. The program aims to introduce children to the principles of architecture and design through a hands-on, learning-by-doing approach.

The event is divided into two age-specific tracks. The 'City of My Future' workshop for children aged 6-8 focuses on three-dimensional city design. Participants will explore themes such as sustainability, environmental issues, and ecological footprints while designing urban functions like housing, parks, and hospitals. These ideas will be transformed into 3D models to create a collective future city inspired by Erzurum.

The 'Story of My City' workshop for children aged 9-13 uses architecture as a storytelling tool. Participants will create narratives based on their own cities, combining words and visuals into comic book formats before translating selected scenes into 3D urban models. The workshops are designed to foster spatial thinking, problem-solving, and creative confidence.
