Forum Pemred to host Run for Good Journalism 2026 in Jakarta

The Forum Pemimpin Redaksi Indonesia (Forum Pemred) is organizing the ‘Run for Good Journalism 2026’ event, scheduled to take place in Jakarta on October 18, 2026. Under the theme ‘Press for the Public,’ the initiative aims to campaign for high-quality journalism and press independence.

Forum Pemred Chairperson Retno Pinasti noted that maintaining media sustainability requires stamina and consistency, drawing a parallel to the philosophy of running. The event seeks to address declining public trust in media caused by disinformation and opinion storms, reaffirming the commitment of Indonesian journalists to produce products of integrity.

As a precursor to the main event, the organization held the ‘Road to FP Run’ on October 11, 2026. This preliminary activity included community runs, media discussions, and interactive programs designed to gather public feedback and aspirations regarding the Indonesian press. The main event is expected to involve approximately 500 participants, including national media editors-in-chief, press communities, and the general public.
