FORVIA Clarion Electronics implements AI and robotics in manufacturing
FORVIA Clarion Electronics is advancing its manufacturing automation by implementing humanoid robots, vision systems, and ‘robodogs’ to enhance productivity, safety, and quality. These technologies are currently being utilized at the company’s plant in San Juan del Río, Mexico.
As part of a broader innovation strategy, the company has transitioned its information technology departments into artificial intelligence divisions. Approximately 80% of the company’s plants now utilize AI at various levels of development. Etzail Vega, Director of Operations at FORVIA Clarion Electronics, noted that the integration of these technologies allows for cross-functional data application across linked plants but also necessitates stronger cybersecurity measures to prevent attacks.
Vega emphasized that while these tools offer 24/7 advantages and can multiply productivity, they are intended to support rather than replace human workers. By automating repetitive tasks, the technology allows technical staff to focus on innovation and decision-making, which remains a human responsibility.
