FORVIA HELLA expands automotive technology portfolio

Automotive supplier FORVIA HELLA is expanding its technological portfolio through new product developments and strategic partnerships. The company has introduced a 24-volt Full-LED rear combination lamp designed for heavy vehicle fleets and trailers. This component features high light output, IP 6K9K dustproof and waterproof ratings, and adheres to ISO 26262:2018 safety standards, including ASIL-B requirements for stop and indicator functions.

Additionally, FORVIA HELLA has entered a strategic partnership with Finnish start-up Distance Technologies, supported by HELLA Ventures, to develop mirrorless 3D Augmented Reality (AR) Head-Up Displays (HUD). Unlike conventional HUDs that use mirrors to project 2D graphics, this technology superimposes 3D visualizations directly into the driver’s field of view. This approach reduces installation space while allowing real and virtual content, such as dynamic navigation cues and hazard information, to appear as part of the real environment.
