Forza Horizon 6 player counts drop 90% on Steam

Forza Horizon 6 has experienced a significant decline in its Steam player base, dropping approximately 90% since its May launch. After reaching a peak of 302,645 concurrent players following its debut set in Japan, the title saw daily active users fall to roughly 13,000 by late September.

Despite the sharp decline in concurrency, the game's initial launch outperformed its predecessor, Forza Horizon 5, which peaked at 81,096 players on the platform. Analysts suggest this downward trend is a common pattern for large-scale single-player driving titles on PC, where player numbers stabilize into a dedicated core after the initial hype.

To support ongoing engagement, Playground Games is releasing the ‘Horizon Meets’ update on October 5, 2026. This update includes a collaboration with 7-Eleven, 200 new Horizon Play levels, new vehicles, and features designed to encourage social car meets and convoys throughout the Japanese game world.
