Forza Italia criticizes center-right split in Roseto

The center-right coalition in Roseto has fractured ahead of upcoming municipal elections. Forza Italia has issued a sharp critique regarding the selection process of mayoral candidate Vanessa Quaranta, who is being supported by Fratelli d'Italia, Noi Moderati, and various civic groups.

Forza Italia claims the division is not a recent development but the result of a two-year process. The party argues that Quaranta’s candidacy became politically defined following the regional elections on March 10, 2024, before a formal coalition discussion had even taken place. According to the party, the decision was presented as a 'fait accompli' rather than a collaborative choice.

In its statement, Forza Italia noted that while they, along with Lega and UDC, considered other potential candidates, those individuals required a guarantee of full coalition support—a guarantee that could not be provided without risking a total split. The party maintains that unity must be built before a candidate is chosen, rather than demanding adherence to a decision already made.
