Forza Italia reaffirms center-right stance after provincial vote tensions
Forza Italia has reaffirmed its commitment to the center-right coalition following political tensions during a provincial council vote regarding the new Provincial Territorial Coordination Plan (PTCP).
The tension arose after members of the Provincia al Centro group, which includes Forza Italia and Noi Moderati, called for a moderate and reformist administrative model based on collaboration across political lines. This prompted representatives from Fratelli d'Italia to walk out of the session before the vote. While the Lega remained to vote in favor of the plan, Rosario Tramontana, Forza Italia's provincial head for local authorities, clarified that any statements deviating from the center-right alliance reflect the views of individual members rather than the party's official stance.
The PTCP was approved on September 16 after a lengthy process involving observations from municipalities and the Lombardy Region. Prior to the council vote, the plan received broad support from the Assembly of Mayors, with 112 out of 114 municipalities expressing a favorable opinion.
