Fossa Magna Museum and National Science Museum host mineral exhibitions

The Fossa Magna Museum in Itoyogawa and the National Museum of Nature and Science in Tokyo are hosting collaborative mineral exhibitions inspired by the manga and anime series ‘Ruri no Houseki’.

The exhibitions feature various geological specimens, including Lapis Lazuli—notably the first confirmed production in Japan found in Itoyogawa—as well as jade, sapphire (corundum), and pyrite. These displays aim to connect the scientific accuracy of the series with real-world mineralogy.

At the Fossa Magna Museum, visitors can engage with self-appraisal corners to compare stones, while the National Museum of Nature and Science offers academic commentary on the minerals depicted in the series, such as quartz and manganese minerals.
