Foton and FAW expand Australian commercial vehicle presence

Chinese truck brands FAW and Foton are expanding their presence in the Australian market through new dealership developments and flagship facilities.

In regional areas, the century-old family dealership Hartwigs has begun distributing FAW J7 heavy trucks and Foton light-duty trucks across Canberra, southern New South Wales, and northern Victoria. The FAW J7 features a 660 hp engine and a 12-speed automated manual transmission, while Foton models utilize Cummins engines to target operators focused on total cost of ownership.

Simultaneously, Foton Australia has unveiled its first flagship commercial vehicle centre in Penrith. The facility, managed by Inchcape, has undergone a comprehensive refurbishment to serve as a national showcase for the brand’s light commercial vehicles and technology, aiming to standardize the customer experience and aftersales support across the country.
