Founder Talks explores startup financing and franchising

The September edition of Founder Talks addressed several critical topics for entrepreneurs, including startup financing, franchising, and regional business support.

Startup consultant Barbara Fischer, founder of arena ventures, emphasized that successful fundraising requires extensive preparation beyond a pitch deck. She advised startups to plan for a six-to-eight-month financing cycle and to maintain a list of 30 to 40 potential investors, noting that alignment in industry, investment phase, and business model is essential.

Franchising expert Professor Veronika Bellone described the franchise model as a navigation system that provides proven routes but still requires individual entrepreneurial effort. She advised prospective franchisees to carefully evaluate the economic viability of systems, fee structures, and competitive advantages.

Additionally, the discussions covered startup funding in rural Brandenburg with Sonja Schwarzkopf and energy transition solutions from Konstanz.
