Founders School launches NYC high school with business profit guarantee

Founders School, a new high school focused on entrepreneurship, has opened in Manhattan’s Financial District. The institution offers an unconventional tuition model: annual tuition is $150,000, but the school promises to refund the total $600,000 cost of four years if a student fails to launch a business generating at least $1 million in profit by graduation.

An offshoot of the AI-powered Alpha School network, Founders School currently serves 21 students. Fifteen are based at the New York City campus, while six students in Austin, Texas, participate through a hybrid model involving regular travel to meet mentors and classmates. The curriculum is designed to provide the resources and support necessary for students to scale business ventures while completing their secondary education.
