Fountain Inn City Council advances outdoor display and cafe ordinance

The Fountain Inn City Council has granted initial approval to an amended ordinance regarding outdoor displays and cafes. The proposed changes aim to regulate outdoor merchandise, increase insurance requirements, and establish design standards. The amendment also seeks to strengthen alcohol and safety regulations and align public-space permits with the city’s Hospitality District vision. A final vote is scheduled for September 10.

Additionally, the council approved two items on first reading: an annexation of 3.33 acres at 107 Milacron Drive for medical and retail development by GBA Holdings LLC, and a rezoning request for 12.10 acres at 604 North Woods Drive to allow for self-storage use. Both items await final approval on September 10.
