Fountains Nintendo Switch 2 Edition released with 120 FPS support

Crunching Koalas has released a Nintendo Switch 2 Edition of the soulslike action-RPG Fountains. Following its initial Nintendo Switch launch last week, this new edition offers enhanced performance with 120 FPS support and introduces an exclusive Gauntlet Mode, which allows players to battle bosses in consecutive trial runs.

Players who already own the original Nintendo Switch version can upgrade to the Switch 2 Edition for free. The release coincides with the Shattered Shape DLC, which adds new weapons, foes, and lands. Recent updates to the game, including on Steam, have implemented quality-of-life improvements such as adjustable difficulty settings and new language options based on player feedback.

Developed by John Pywell, Fountains features a seamless, interconnected dungeon-like world where players control a hooded stranger attempting to escape a tyrannical regime. The game utilizes a pixel-art style and includes an online messaging system for player interaction.
