Four arrested after Abdulkadir Ataş murdered in Kuşadaşi, Turkey

On the morning of May 5, 27‑year‑old Abdulkadir Ataş was shot in the left armpit during a street altercation in Camikebir Mahallesi, Kaleiçi Sakarya Sokak, Kuşadaşi, Aydın Province, Turkey. After falling to the ground, he was repeatedly beaten for several minutes, as captured by nearby security‑camera footage.

Police responded to the incident, launched a coordinated operation in Aydın and İzmir, and detained seven suspects. Four individuals – Aziz Alaşkan, Murat Demir, Muhammet Emre Bakar and Furkan Bel – were convicted of intentional homicide and sent to prison, while the remaining three were released under judicial control. The firearm used in the killing was later recovered from the roadside.
