Principe: Four arrested after robbery and assault in Genoa gardens

Local police in the Principe area of Genoa arrested four individuals, including a minor, following a robbery and assault at the Caduti nei lager nazisti gardens. The incident occurred around 2:30 AM when a young man, born in 2006, was sitting on a bench using his phone.

According to police reports, the victim was pulled down, assaulted with a belt, and robbed of his mobile phone. The suspects attempted to flee via bus but were intercepted at a subsequent stop by the Predatory Crimes Unit. The unit was alerted in real-time by an operator monitoring surveillance cameras, a service implemented by local police in January to patrol high-risk areas on Friday and Saturday nights.

The detainees include two males and one female born in 2007—identified as an Egyptian national and two Italians—as well as an Italian female minor born in 2008. The suspects face charges of robbery in conspiracy and have been transferred to detention centers in Marassi and Pontedecimo pending judicial hearings.
