Four dead and child injured after tree collapses onto vehicle in Bentong, Malaysia

A tree fell onto a Ford Raptor on Jalan Lama Kuala Lumpur near Pintu Gerbang Janda Baik in Bentong, killing four occupants – a 35‑year‑old driver, a 36‑year‑old female passenger, a 5‑year‑old child and a 40‑year‑old rear‑seat passenger. A second five‑year‑old child, seated in the back, was injured and taken to Bentong Hospital for treatment. The victims were later transferred to Hospital Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah in Temerloh for autopsy. Police Superintendent Zaiham Mohd Kahar said the victims were mostly family members, though the driver’s relationship to them remains unclear. Fire‑rescue teams used specialised rescue tools to extricate the trapped occupants.
