Four dead and two injured in fatal single-vehicle crash near Guelph

Four young people were killed and two others injured after a vehicle crashed into a ravine near Guelph, Ontario, early Saturday morning. The incident occurred on Watson Road South in Puslinch when the vehicle left the roadway, struck a guardrail, and entered a ravine.

The deceased include a 19-year-old man from Mississauga, a 19-year-old man from Brampton, a 17-year-old girl from Mississauga, and a 15-year-old girl from Milton. Two other occupants, both 16 and 17-year-old females from Mississauga, were transported to the hospital. One is reported to have life-altering injuries, while the other sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating the cause of the collision. Inspector Karen Medeiros stated that investigators are looking into whether speed or seatbelt use were contributing factors, noting that there likely were not enough seatbelts for all six occupants in the vehicle. Police are requesting anyone with dashcam or surveillance footage from the area to contact authorities.
