Four Dead in Multi-Vehicle Crash on Jamin Ginting Road, Sibolangit, Indonesia

On July 17, 2026, a chain collision involving several vehicles occurred on Jalan Jamin Ginting in the village of Suka Makmur, Sibolangit district, Deli Serdang, North Sumatra. Seven vehicles were reported to be involved, blocking the Medan‑Berastagi highway and creating a total traffic jam.

Police, emergency services and local volunteers responded, using heavy equipment to clear the wreckage. Initial investigations confirmed four fatalities—Heppi Sitinjak (60), Dinaria Manik (60), Samsir Sitinjak (30) and Anton Simorangkir—and at least eight people injured. Victims were taken to the Sibolangit health post, with the seriously wounded referred to Adam Malik Hospital in Medan. Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the accident.
