Four dead in separate fatal highway crashes in Brazil

A head‑on collision on the BR‑376 near Guairaçá, Paraná, on Thursday night involving a VW Fox and a Renault Clio killed three people – the Fox driver, the Clio driver and a three‑year‑old child – and injured three others. Emergency crews closed the road to conduct rescue and investigation.

The following day on the BR‑407 near Paulistana in Piauí, a Volkswagen Saveiro overturned on a rainy curve, killing 67‑year‑old passenger Antônio Vilmar de Sousa and wounding three occupants, including a driver, a woman and a child. Authorities sealed the road for several hours while rescue teams attended to the victims and began an inquiry into road conditions and vehicle safety.
