Four family members killed in plane crash near Bahamas

Four members of a Florida family have been found dead following the crash of a small aircraft in the Bermuda Triangle area near Andros Island, Bahamas. The victims have been identified as 80-year-old pilot Mario Lamar, his wife Lili Lamar, 79, and their grandchildren, Sofi Sosa, 28, and Christian Sosa, 22.

The aircraft, a Piper PA-34, departed from Great Harbour Cay in the Bahamas around 10:12 AM, destined for Miami Executive Airport in Florida. The plane lost contact with air traffic controllers near the western part of Andros Island at approximately 11:04 AM.

Mario Lamar was described by family as a highly experienced pilot with over 40 years of aviation experience. The family frequently traveled between South Florida and the Bahamas, where they maintained a home. Authorities in the Bahamas and the United States have been involved in the search and recovery efforts.
