Four foreign divers found safe after missing off Sattahip coast
Four experienced foreign divers were found safe on Friday night after failing to surface during a technical diving training session off the coast of Samae San in Sattahip, Thailand.
The group, consisting of Gary Phillips (UK), JD John Mecrew (US), Bartosz Royals (Poland), and Tim Pitcher (US), had been participating in a dive near the Rong Khon Rong Nang site. When they failed to resurface at the scheduled time of 3:00 PM, a large-scale search and rescue operation was launched involving the Thai Maritime Enforcement Command Centre, the Chonburi maritime command centre, and the Naval Special Warfare Command.
Rescuers located the divers floating in the sea near Suay Nam Sai beach at approximately 8:45 PM. Initial reports suggest that after surfacing, the group was unable to locate their boat and chose to remain afloat. Currents eventually carried them toward the shore, where they were brought ashore unhurt and reunited with their families.
