Four Gaza students awarded British Chevening Scholarships
Four Palestinian students from the Gaza Strip, currently residing in Egypt, have been awarded the prestigious British Chevening Scholarship for the 2026/2027 academic year. The recipients are Mahdi Jarbou, Helen Salem, Said Baalousha, and Haya Jaber.
The announcement was made by Naji Al-Naji, the Chargé d'Affaires of the Palestinian Embassy in Egypt, during a farewell ceremony organized by the British Embassy in Cairo. The event was attended by the British Ambassador to Egypt, Mark Bryson-Richardson.
The Chevening program, funded by the British government, provides full funding for master's degrees at leading UK universities, covering tuition, living expenses, and travel costs. Al-Naji noted that the success of these students reflects the competence and ambition of Palestinian youth despite exceptional circumstances.
