Four Green Line transit stations vandalized in Jiu Valley, repairs to be covered by public funds

Within six months of opening, four Green Line public‑transport stations in Romania’s Jiu Valley were vandalized. Incidents occurred in Vulcan, Lupeni, Paroșeni and most recently Petrila, where side panels of plexiglass were broken and bicycle‑charging stations were also damaged. No perpetrators have been identified; four criminal complaints have been filed with the police.

The Association for Inter‑communal Development Green Line Valea Jiului says the repair costs amount to a few thousand lei and will be paid from public funds. Project managers emphasize that the vandalism undermines public investment and imposes additional costs on the local community.
