Four killed in Mutare-Chigodora Road vehicle collision

Four people were killed in a road traffic accident involving a commuter omnibus and a Nissan AD van on Monday afternoon. The collision occurred along the Mutare-Chigodora Road near Prince of Wales View.

The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) reported that the driver of the commuter omnibus allegedly attempted to overtake other vehicles while approaching a curve. This maneuver resulted in the omnibus side-swiping the van before veering off the road and plunging into a ditch.

Several people were injured in the crash, though the exact number of casualties has not yet been established. The injured were transported to Victoria Chitepo Provincial Hospital for medical treatment. Police investigations into the circumstances of the accident are ongoing.
