Four new hotel projects receive approvals in Crete, Greece

Four separate tourism developments on the island of Crete have been granted the necessary permits to proceed. A pre‑approval was issued for a 4‑star hotel in the Drapanos Peninsula with 212 rooms and 34 parking spaces. Environmental terms were approved for a 5‑star hotel in Koukí Malion, planned for 295 rooms. The Regional Committee on Environment and Planning gave a positive opinion on the Environmental Impact Study for the 4‑star "ATALI 2" hotel in Bali, Rethymno, which will have 186 rooms. In the Asproulias area of Apokoronas, a 5‑star hotel of 49 rooms received standard environmental commitments, including protections for the neighboring Natura 2000 site. The approvals reflect strong investment interest in premium‑grade hospitality on Crete, with international luxury brands targeting the island as a high‑end destination.
