Four OPM members surrender weapons in Puncak Jaya

Four members of the Free Papua Movement (OPM) in Puncak Jaya, Central Papua, have surrendered their firearms and committed to reintegrating into Indonesian society. The surrender took place during a national reintegration ceremony at the Makodim 1714/Puncak Jaya headquarters.

Brigadier General Riyanto, Commander of the TNI Habema Operation Command, received the weapons and praised the individuals for their decision to choose a peaceful life. He emphasized that the surrender marks the end of a violent path and the beginning of a process involving community and government support to help the former members return to normal activities such as farming and working within their villages.
