Four Seasons Hotel Rome enters second phase of Palazzo Marini construction
Construction has entered its second phase for the new Four Seasons Hotel Rome, located in the historic Palazzo Marini overlooking Piazza San Silvestro. The project involves transforming the 17th-century complex into a 127-room luxury hotel with interiors designed by architect Joseph Dirand. The development is promoted by DeA Capital Real Estate for the Millennium Luxury Fund and is supported by a €280 million green refinancing structured by Crédit Agricole.
The project aims to preserve the building’s historic Busiri Vici-designed façade while integrating modern luxury. While the development is expected to boost economic activity and tourism in Rome, it has sparked local debate. Some residents and observers express concerns regarding the potential commercialization of cultural heritage and the impact of construction equipment on the historic square, weighing the promised economic benefits against the preservation of the area's traditional identity.
