Four women steal 100‑kg fridge from Avcılar shop in Istanbul

In the Avcılar district of Istanbul, a two‑door wardrobe‑type refrigerator weighing about 100 kg and valued at roughly 100,000 Turkish lira was stolen from a repair workshop owned by Deniz Atacan. The appliance had been left outside the shop and chained to a metal post.

At around 06:30 a.m., a van arrived and four women disembarked. One acted as a lookout while the others cut the chain, opened the doors and, wearing gloves, lifted the heavy unit through a garden gate, along the sidewalk and between parked cars before loading it onto the van. The suspects fled the scene.

The Avcılar Police Department opened an investigation, reviewing security‑camera footage to identify and apprehend the perpetrators.
