Fourth Army Region Commander orders security response to southern Thailand unrest

Lt. Gen. Norathip Poynok, Commander of the Fourth Army Region and Director of the Internal Security Operations Command (ISOC) Region 4, has ordered all units to secure areas following multiple violent incidents in Thailand's southern border provinces.

Following the unrest, Lt. Gen. Norathip visited Narathiwat Rajanakarin Hospital to check on three individuals injured by gunfire and explosions. He emphasized that ensuring public safety and providing medical care and compensation are the government's top priorities.

Security forces are currently working with administrative and police units to control the situation and pursue perpetrators through legal channels. Authorities have advised residents to remain indoors when possible, avoid suspicious objects, and rely only on official government information to prevent the spread of unverified reports.
