Fourthline and Veridas merge to form European identity verification group

Spanish firm Veridas and Dutch company Fourthline have completed a merger to create a unified European group specializing in digital identity verification, compliance, and fraud prevention. The transaction closed on November 3, 2026, following the satisfaction of all closing conditions.

The merger is supported by up to €65 million in financing from Finch Capital, Seaya Andromeda, and Ashgrove Capital. This funding is intended to drive product innovation, debt refinancing, and strategic acquisitions. Both companies reported being EBITDA-positive at the time of closing.

The combined entity aims to achieve over €50 million in recurring revenue in 2026, with a target of €85 million in annual recurring revenue by 2029. The group expects to perform approximately 200 million identity verifications annually in 2026 and anticipates €20 million in annual run-rate synergies through cross-selling.

The merger combines Fourthline’s compliance and registration platform with Veridas’s biometric and anti-fraud technologies. The new group will employ over 400 people and serve more than 350 customers across 25 countries, including major banks and fintech providers. The move comes ahead of stricter EU anti-money laundering regulations set to take effect in July 2027.
