Fox announces Baywatch reboot premiere date and trailer
Fox has scheduled the premiere of its Baywatch reboot for Wednesday, January 6, 2027, at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT. The series follows Hobie Buchannon, played by Stephen Amell, as he serves as a Baywatch Captain along the Southern California coast, following in the footsteps of his father, Mitch.
The plot centers on Hobie’s life being disrupted by the arrival of his daughter, Charlie Vale (Jessica Belkin), who seeks to continue the family legacy. The ensemble cast includes Hassie Harrison, Shay Mitchell, Thaddeus LaGrone, Noah Beck, and Brooks Nader. Recurring roles feature Livvy Dunne making her acting debut and Megan Thee Stallion appearing as a beach bystander. Original series cast member David Chokachi will reprise his role as Cody Madison.
Co-produced by Fox Entertainment Studios and Fremantle, the series is led by showrunner Matt Nix. McG directed the series premiere and serves as an executive producer alongside Michael Berk, Greg Bonann, Doug Schwartz, Dante Di Loreto, and Mike Horowitz. The reboot was ordered as a 12-episode series for the 2026-2027 broadcast season.
