Fox attacks infant in Watford home

A three-month-old infant sustained head injuries after a fox entered a home in Watford, Hertfordshire, through an open back door. The mother, Carly Clarkson, discovered the infant with four puncture wounds on her skull after being awakened by the animal sniffing her face.

Following the attack, the infant was taken to Watford General Hospital. Medical professionals confirmed there were no skull fractures or brain concerns, though the child required antibiotics and tetanus shots. The mother reported that CCTV footage showed the animal wandering the garden before gaining entry.

The family has reported the incident to the Watford Borough Council and has also contacted The Fox Project. Clarkson expressed concerns regarding local fox populations becoming too accustomed to humans, noting that the family no longer feels safe in their home.
