Fox Corp. ordered to release documents in shareholder lawsuit

A Delaware judge has ordered Fox Corp. to produce hundreds of documents in a long-running lawsuit brought by shareholders. The litigation seeks to hold Rupert Murdoch, his son Lachlan Murdoch, and other executives and board members accountable for a business model that has led to repeated scandals and expensive legal battles.

The lawsuit follows several high-profile incidents, including an $800 million settlement with Dominion Voting Systems regarding 2020 election conspiracy theories and an ongoing $2.7 billion defamation case from Smartmatic USA. The shareholders also cite an undisclosed settlement involving the family of Seth Rich and a past phone-hacking scandal at News Corp. that cost approximately $1.5 billion.
