Fox Corp. reports revenue surge driven by World Cup viewership

Fox Corp. reported a significant increase in quarterly revenue, totaling $4.21 billion, a 28% rise compared to the previous year. This growth was largely driven by a 78% surge in advertising revenue, which reached $1.92 billion, fueled by the FIFA World Cup held in North America.

The tournament provided massive viewership across Fox’s platforms, averaging 7.7 million viewers per match. The final between Spain and Argentina set a record for the company, drawing nearly 39 million viewers. Additionally, Fox’s free streaming service, Tubi, saw substantial growth, with its World Cup hub attracting over 20 million viewers.

CEO Lachlan Murdoch described the fiscal year as one of “record financial performance.” While the company faces challenges from traditional pay TV subscriber losses, its heavy investment in sports and news content has allowed it to capitalize on high-audience live events.
