Fox Corporation appoints Nicholas Trutanich as General Counsel

Fox Corporation has announced a leadership change in its legal department. Nicholas Trutanich, currently the Executive Vice President and Principal Deputy General Counsel, will be appointed as the new General Counsel effective December 1. Trutanich, who joined the company in 2021 and previously served as the U.S. Attorney for the District of Nevada, will report directly to CEO Lachlan Murdoch.

He succeeds Adam Ciongoli, the current Chief Legal and Policy Officer, who has decided not to renew his contract. Ciongoli will remain with Fox Corporation as a Special Advisor through June 2028.

This transition occurs while Fox Corporation’s $22 billion acquisition of streaming platform Roku is pending. The deal, which has received shareholder approval, is currently awaiting clearance from the Justice Department and is expected to close in the first half of 2027.
