Baywatch sequel series trailer released by Fox

Fox has released the first full trailer for its upcoming Baywatch series, scheduled to premiere in January 2027. The production, a collaboration between Fox Entertainment Studios and Fremantle, serves as a sequel to the original 1980s and 90s phenomenon.

Stephen Amell stars as Hobie Buchannon, the grown son of the original series' protagonist Mitch Buchannon. The plot follows Hobie as a lifeguard captain whose life is disrupted by the arrival of his estranged daughter, Charlie Vale, played by Jessica Belkin. The ensemble cast includes Shay Mitchell, Hassie Harrison, Noah Beck, Brooks Nader, and Livvy Dunne. Original cast members David Chokachi and Erika Eleniak are also set to appear.

The trailer features high-stakes action sequences, including a plane crash in the ocean, a wildfire, and an exploding lifeguard tower, while maintaining the franchise's signature slow-motion beach runs and iconic red swimsuits. While the trailer has generated excitement, some social media reactions have expressed skepticism regarding the casting of influencers and the reliance on nostalgia.
