Fox Says NFL Rights Deal Will Stay Unchanged Through 2029
Fox CEO Lachlan Murdoch told investors that the network will not amend its existing contract with the National Football League before the 2030 season, keeping the agreement in place through the end of the 2029 season. He said the decision follows recent discussions with the league but offered no details on the talks. Murdoch also noted that Fox has recently added NFL rights for Mexico and highlighted the company's success in broadcasting events such as the World Cup.
The NFL is reportedly exploring updates to its media contracts with partners that include Amazon, Disney, NBCUniversal and CBS, using an opt‑out clause built into its current 11‑year agreements. A league spokesperson was unavailable for comment.
