Fox Sports Mexico pulled from Izzi and Sky pay TV platforms

Izzi and Sky announced that, effective 30 August, they will cease carrying the Fox Sports suite in Mexico – Fox Sports, Fox Sports 2, Fox Sports 3 and Fox Sports Premium – all operated by Grupo Lauman. The removal ends the distribution of CMLL’s Friday wrestling shows, which have aired on Fox Sports 2 since April, and AEW’s programming, including Dynamite, Collision and special events, which are under a multiyear contract with Fox Sports Mexico.

The decision follows a legal dispute in which Grupo Lauman lost a U.S. court case against Fox Corporation and faces a roughly US$6 million penalty, jeopardising the right to use the Fox Sports brand in Mexico. Earlier this year Megacable also dropped the channels, replacing them with Fox’s own FOX and FOX+ services. The loss reduces Fox Sports Mexico’s reach in the country’s pay‑TV market, which has already been shrinking as major sports rights move to new platforms.
