Fox Sports México employees strike over unpaid wages
Employees of Fox Sports México, owned by Grupo Lauman, initiated a strike on September 15 following a failure to receive outstanding payments dating back to December 2025. The disputes include unpaid wages and bonuses related to the coverage of the 2026 World Cup.
The labor action has immediately impacted the network's programming, leading to the cancellation of original productions such as ‘La Última Palabra’ and ‘Central Fox’. To maintain the broadcast signal, the company has resorted to airing reruns and previous editions. While original productions are suspended, external content such as AEW and CMLL broadcasts are expected to continue as they do not rely on the striking production staff.
Reports indicate the situation is escalating, with allegations of retaliatory dismissals against workers participating in the strike. Additionally, Grupo Lauman faces broader operational challenges, including reported debts to local businesses and a deadline in November to resolve the rights to use the Fox brand with Fox Corporation.
