Foz do Iguaçu Youth Games 2026 adds futsal to lineup

The 2026 edition of Brazil's Jogos da Juventude Caixa will be held in Foz do Iguaçu from 19 October to 3 November, marking the first time the multi‑sport youth competition takes place in the city. Organized by the Brazilian Olympic Committee in partnership with the municipality and the state government, the event will feature about 5,000 athletes aged 13‑17 from all 27 federative units, supported by more than 2,000 staff and roughly 200 volunteers.

The program includes 20 sports, with futsal now officially part of the schedule. All competitions will be open to the public free of charge, offering spectators a chance to watch emerging talent. A volunteer programme remains open for applications until 14 August, covering roles such as accreditation, medical support, transport and event operations.

Facilities will be spread across venues like the Foz do Iguaçu Convention Center and the Costa Cavalcanti Gymnasium, which is slated to host the opening ceremony and several indoor events.
