Federação Paulista de Futebol and Liga F partner to develop women's football
The Federação Paulista de Futebol (FPF) and Liga F, Spain's premier women's club competition, have announced an institutional partnership to strengthen women's football in São Paulo and internationally. The agreement was formalized during the ‘Dia F: Legado e Futuro do Futebol Feminino’ event in São Paulo.
The cooperation aims to promote the internationalization of the sport, provide technical and administrative training, develop female refereeing, and implement social impact projects. The partnership will also facilitate professional exchange, joint initiatives, and technical visits, courses, and research.
FPF President Reinaldo Carneiro Bastos noted that while the federation has a long-standing relationship with La Liga, this new agreement focuses specifically on the immersion and advancement of the women's game. Liga F President Beatriz Álvarez emphasized that the relationship is a mutual exchange of knowledge regarding professionalization, structure, and governance models.
Brazilian football icon Formiga advocated during the event for the expansion of women's football beyond major capitals, calling for increased investment in youth categories to ensure quality training and access for girls across the country.
